CompassSport Trophy Final

On Saturday evening we received a picture showing our new WIM club tent pitched in a field on Cannock Chase - we were a bit concerned that Kirsty, Eamon and Debs had forgotten to book a room and were sleeping in it overnight. When we arrived just after 9am on Sunday morning all we could find was an empty tent - where were they?
Shortly after that quite a few WIM members started arriving and well before 10am our first runners were off to the start. This was to continue to well after 1.30pm when our last runners started.
It was a day of great changes - brilliant sunshine in the morning but by 3pm cloud had moved in and it was attempting to rain. While the sun was out it was lovely.
Very difficult to tell how we were doing - early on we were 2nd, not much later 12th, then 5th and so on. We knew how well most of our runners had done but keeping track of overall positions was a lot of guess work.
At 3pm the prize giving started and when it came to the Trophy event results for small clubs we were announced as 5th out of 15 clubs - a very creditable result given the strength of the competition from Northern and Scottish Clubs.
Well done to everyone who represented WIM - over 30 competitors. Well done to Becca Ellis for organising us all.
